About Us

BRYC is a year-round arts organization which is a feeder program for school music departments and increases Home School options for music curriculum.

Goals for youth attending will include learning & performing new songs, having fun, meeting new people, forming friendships, improving self esteem, posture and improving self-confidence.

Cynthia Morningstar

Artistic Director

Cynthia brings over 40 years of music leadership to her position as Artistic Director. She is the Choir Director at First Presbyterian Church in Shelbyville where her husband, Mark, is the pastor, and the Choral Department Accompanist at Shelbyville High School. She has a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance, taught piano for many years, and has produced and directed more than 30 children’s musicals.

Cindy Leahy

Executive Director

Cindy brings 30 years of private music studio teaching, 18 years of music teaching at St. Joseph Catholic School and Morristown High School, and many years of non-profit management experience, serving as Managing Director of Shelby County Players since 2010.  Cindy has a BA in Communications with a Minor in Music from Millikin University with teaching license and accreditation from Indiana Wesleyan University and Marion University.

Kim Livingston

Choir Director

Kim fell in love with music at age 5 during her first piano lesson. She has spent her life studying, sharing, and performing piano, instrumental and vocal music. She studied at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. She has taken the opportunity to share music as a private voice and piano teacher and as a church musician. Kim has performed locally and regionally in many music theater productions, sacred chorus works and opera productions.

Elizabeth Peterson Arioso

Choir Director

Elizabeth is the 6-12 Choir, Drama, Piano and Technical Theater teacher at Waldron Junior Senior High School, has taught music to grades K-12 for over 20 years. Elizabeth graduated with her degree in Music Education from The College of Mount Saint Joseph and has graduate hours with Indiana Wesleyan University. Elizabeth has been involved with many Shelby County Players productions and can be found playing the keyboard for SHS Synergy Show Choir. She has judged competitions for ISSMA, Shelbyville’s Singing Sensational and Shelby Idol. She truly believes that every child’s voice should be heard!

Patrick Kuntz

Registration Coordinator

Patrick is a 2016 Music Education graduate from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and has worked with organizations throughout the central and southern Indiana region.  An accomplished pianist and singer, he has received numerous awards and acknowledgements through the Shelbyville High School music department, Indiana State School Music Association, and Jacobs School of Music.  More recently, he has worked as section leader and soloist with the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus and as a private instructor.
